Autobiography
My name is Kevin Baron and I recently graduated from the University of Oregon Clark
Honors College with degrees in Sports Business/Marketing and Political Science. I was
born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, the same city as the University. I have often felt
claustrophobic attending the U of O because I cannot avoid running into people I have known since childhood every which way I turn. I've tried to travel both domestically and internationally as much as possible during my four undergraduate years to escape Eugene. I studied abroad my sophomore year in New Zealand - pictured to my left - and have had the travel bug ever since. I love to do volunteer work helping in impoverished communities by building infrastructure and helping with elementary education. I have gone on philanthropic initiatives in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, Jamaica, and Guatemala. I love any and all new experiences, and my goal is to travel to 100 countries before I die. I've visited Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Jamaica, Guatemala, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico, Canada, and the UK thus far. I have also visited eleven western European Union countries since traveling across the Atlantic Ocean.

I am very health conscious, and passionate about nutrition and exercise. I do not eat red meat and try to eat organic fruits and vegetables as much as possible. It has been tough in London so far because the food is not as high quality as the Pacific Northwest. I play basketball, run, and lift weights religiously. I love to read the news and non-fiction, stay up-to-date politically, and get into intellectual and philosophical conversations. I am a HUGE Ducks football fan, and a really big professional basketball fan. With that said, I will do anything to see the Gold Medal Men's basketball game (my fingers are crossed for the USA). Aside from NCAA football and the NBA, all other sports take a backseat. March Madness is up there too. I have a serious girlfriend that graduated from Oregon in June, and after the Games in September we're moving to Berkeley together. She is an accountant and I'd like to go to law school or get a Ph.D. at Berkeley. My dream job is to become the GM of an NBA team, which is why I wrote my thesis on the legal and financial conclusions from the last collective bargaining agreement negotiations. I know that it is an unrealistic goal as there are only 30 people on the planet with that job. My alternative career path is to teach current events at the undergraduate level, drawing from a variety or sources such as the New York Times, BBC, WSJ, and other up-to-date news outlets.
